Trial Lawyer
Joe Manuel is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Joe is licensed to practice law in both Tennessee & Georgia. His trial experience ranges from personal injury matters to complex products liability to professional liability (negligence) to complex commercial disputes to construction and employment law.
This certification recognizes Joe’s skill as a trial lawyer and includes Joe within a small, select group of trial lawyers. Only a small group of trial lawyers obtain this distinction with only 3% of lawyers being board certified.
This certification continues to recognize Joe as an active and skilled trial lawyer. In order to become Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate, the lawyer must meet strict criteria regarding their years of practice; participation as lead counsel in jury trials; and must devote a significant amount of his time to trial practice and related activities. Then, the lawyer must pass a rigorous examination administered by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Joe was first certified in 1995. In order to remain certified, the Civil Trial Advocate must satisfy strenuous recertification requirements every 5 year. This requirement demonstrates their continued, active trial practice. Joe was recertified in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020 & 2025.
Joe authored the Commercial Litigation Question for the National Examination in July 1998 and July 2001. His 2001 Commercial Litigation Question was selected as a model question for inclusion in the Examination Manual published by the NBTA for applicants sitting for the Civil Trial Advocate Examination.
